The Counselling Cell of the institution plays a vital role in fostering the overall development and well-being of students. It helps students understand themselves better and supports them in addressing personal, emotional, social, family, peer, academic, and related concerns. The Cell comprises 10 members, led by a senior faculty member and supported by representatives from all seven departments, along with the services of an external counsellor from an NGO. Through individual counselling sessions, the Cell assists students in identifying their interests, abilities, aptitudes, and aspirations, while also helping them overcome challenges such as examination stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem, especially among slow learners and physically challenged students. In cases requiring advanced support, students are referred to professional clinical psychologists or psychiatrists. The Cell also maintains communication with parents regarding significant behavioural concerns and works towards building a healthy student–teacher relationship. In addition, it organizes training programmes for faculty on counselling skills and conducts workshops on stress management, relaxation techniques, and emotional intelligence. The Counselling Cell meets at least twice a year to review its activities and ensure continuous support for students’ holistic development.
