HOSTEL
The college has only men’s hostels which is named as Periyar. The men’s hostel is situated left side of the college within the campus amidst a glistening panoramic view. GPC Kalamassery offers ample hostel facilities for the students. Since an ideal hostel must be, in essence, a home away from home, the facilities offered here are designed to provide a sense of belonging, security and care as well as a spirit of independence, within reasonable limits. Periyar hostel has 30 rooms and can accommodate 90 students. Hostels are under the control of the Warden, assisted by a Resident Tutors(RTs) and two assistant resident tutors(ARTs)
The mess is run by the mess committee elected from among the students. Students elect a mess secretary and two mess ministers for the smooth functioning of the hostel. A hygienic atmosphere is available in the hostels. The Resident Tutors (RTs) look after the hostels and maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the hostels.
The Hostel shall be under the direct control of the warden assisted by resident tutors (RTs). The warden shall have powers to issue instructions and standing orders to regulate the internal matters of the hostel and the warden’s decision shall be final in all matters connected with the hostel. Also the warden reserves its right to change the existing rules from time to time keeping the students informed through general circular displayed on the hostel notice boards and all the residents of the
hostels have to strictly obey these rules.
