Industry Institute Partnership Cell
 
Industry Institute Partnership Cell, Govt. Polytechnic College, Kalamassery, short named
IIPC is a project sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India
under IIP Scheme. The cell started functioning from May 2004. We have a well-equipped office
functioning at Pamba Building in the premises of Govt. Polytechnic College, Kalamassery.

Coordinator of IIPC: Sri. Binoy Babu B, Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering.



IIPC Activities:
  • Establishment of proper links with industries, departments and concerned agencies andconducting regularly interaction programmes, workshops, seminars, symposia etc. onmutually agreed subjects
  • Motivation, assistance and promotion of joint projects sponsored by the industries in the Institute.
  • Coordination and promotion of Consultancy and Testing Services in the Institute of Industries.
  • Organization of short term Industrial training and visits for students and faculty membersand promote Industry Study Tour Programme
  • Exchange of personnel between Industries and the Institute by way of inviting them fordelivering lectures on latest technological advancement in Industries, development of curricula as per Industry need and for participation in other academic work in the Institute
  • Organizing short term courses for personnel working in Industries as per their need
  • Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with major Industries. Interaction with industries for placement and summer training of our students

Organization of staff development Programmes.
  • To arrange industrial training for students and identify student project work in Industries. To encourage Industry to collaborate in Industry Study Tour Programmes (ISTP) and placement of students in Industries.
  • Personality development workshop for students relating with soft skills (communication skills / personality development).
  • Guest lectures by eminent personalities, academics, leading industrialists at regular intervals to update the students’ knowledge.
  • To arrange technical festivals/open houses/student design competitions.

Continuing education programmes: Providing infrastructure to meet the training needs of the
industry, like improving communication skills, job analysis, inventory & financial controls,
efficient management skills and on up gradation of technical knowledge on current topics.
  • To arrange short-term programmes: Duration of 5 to 7 days for the benefit of Professionals invarious technical disciplines.
  • In house training programme at the request of industries at their location
  • To set up Innovation Centres and Centres of Excellence.
