The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been the heart and spirit of this institution right from its inception in 1951. This is one of the biggest departments of this institution in terms of student strength, technical staff and faculty. The department offers three year Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering.The department also offers various certificate courses related to ‘Fluid Power’ in association with IIPC cell & BOSCH company. The Mechanical Engineering department has been producing exceptional academic results on a consistent basis ever since its inception.

The department is spearheaded by a highly competent, dedicated, well qualified and experienced faculty and technical staff who always strive for imparting quality in technical education. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem-solving skills and also to guide and motivate them to come up with innovations in latest technological domains. The various labs and workshops encompass the vital aspects of Mechanical Engineering viz, Hydraulics, Machine Tools, Heat Engines, Refrigeration etc. Industrial visits and internship programs are made an integral part of the curriculum to familiarize the students with the industrial environments, working conditions and innovative industrial developments. The department has an esteemed alumni of several technocrats and researchers around the globe.
